POCKETBOY 170 (Large)
The Silky PocketBoy 170mm Large Tooth Folding Saw is perfect if you're someone who wants a ton of cutting power without hauling around a full-sized hand saw.
More Details
The 6-3/4 inch blade folds into the handle to reduce the area it takes up in your pack and only weighs 0.64 lb. However, that 170 mm blade is filled with large teeth with 4 cutting angles for incredibly fast and smooth cutting.
- Weight: 0.62 lb.
- Blade Length: 6.7 in (170 mm)
- Folded Length: 8.27 in (210mm)
- Teeth per (inch): 6.8
- Teeth per 30 mm: 8
Non-Set Teeth
The teeth sit within the blade’s thickness instead of being bent outward like many Western saws. Combined with a taper ground blade, this gives very smooth, fast cuts with minimal waste and a very clean surface.
Mirai-Me (4 Cutting Angles)
A special tooth design with four cutting angles that lets one saw handle rip cuts, crosscuts, and slant cuts. It leaves an exceptionally smooth surface that often needs little or no sanding.
Impulse-Hardening
The teeth are hardened with a quick, high‑frequency heat treatment so they stay sharp up to three times longer than normal teeth. These blades cut very fast and clean but generally cannot be resharpened and are replaced when dull.
Hard Chrome Plating
A modern protective coating that makes the blade surface very hard and resistant to rust and resin buildup. It extends blade life and keeps cutting performance high for professional use.
GOM Rubber Handle
A premium rubber handle that feels warm and secure in the hand, even in cold or wet conditions or when wearing gloves. It absorbs vibration very well and reduces hand fatigue during long cutting sessions.
Taper Ground Blade
The blade is slightly thinner at the back than at the teeth. This reduces friction and binding in the cut, so the saw feels smoother, needs less effort, and leaves a narrower kerf.
Intermediate Handle
A handle shape that sits between a straight grip and a revolver grip. It offers good control while keeping the wrist in a comfortable, natural position.
Replaceable Blade System
The blade can be removed and replaced when dull or damaged, usually via a simple screw or click‑in mechanism. This lets you keep the same handle while swapping blades for different tasks or renewed sharpness.
